So the title says, “Designers Go Nude For CFDA”, but for what occassion?

Well, you’ve guessed it right! The 2011 CFDA FAshion Awards in coming to town (not mine. NY, duh?)

And like every year, the CFDA will produce a fashion journal with photographs of all the nominated and honored designers for the year. I think I have posted one before last year in my blog. Like the last four years, Trey Laird will be designing the journal with Inez and Vinoodh as the photographer.

Well, the photos by Inez and Vinoodh never cease to amaze me (like the dancing Raquel for Vogue Nippon March 2011)

I bet all that is clicking into the post are hoping to see designers naked and full frontal of sorts. Well, too bad. It is not as you hoped for. You can only see some going shirtless, one in lingerie and others in casual.

So this year, the nominees list are amazing. All of them are extremely talented. From Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler to Jason Wu and Pamela Love. There are veterans and there are newcomers but they are all the best.

Though, one thing is for sure. Not everyone can win. Like the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, the nominees are Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs.All three of them are my favourite New York based designers. How can I choose?

Marc Jacobs

Lady Gaga

Alexander Wang

Well, not that I have the right to choose but you get what I mean.

Marc and Alexander are nominated twice consecutively and Marc won last year. So maybe the Proenza duo can take the award because Marc is getting the honors of Lifetime Achievement Award.

As for Alexander Wang, he has two other nominations. See my solution is great!

Proenza for Womenswear Designer of the Year, Alexander Wang for Swarovski Menswear, Marc gets the Lifetime Achievement and voila, everyone is happy.

But then again, Proenza might get the Accessory Designer of the Year award too. Well, we all can see how well PS1 is going and how much it has developed and demanded by everyone including me.
