Though a little late now, but As we all know L’oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) 2012 is just around the corner, opening it’s doors in less than 10 days. Although I am sure everyone had already been giddy and excited for the last whole month or more, and already planning their schedules around the festival, plus choosing which shows and events to go to, I am still posting up some of my top picks as suggestions to those who has yet to pick any to attend.

It is a tough choice for anyone when looking that the stellar programs installed for the festival, from the L’oreal Runways to showrooms, workshops, seminars and classes.

For my pick, here is a couple that you cannot afford to miss (at least I think it is):

1. National Graduate Showcase – Well, I had already done two posts on the showcase which I think is the best of the festival. This show showcases the best of the new emerging designers of the country. Those who might be the next McQueen or Proenza.
2. Fashion Connect 2012 – The “IT” fashion soiree of LMFF where the best designers, photographers, models, stylists and socialites gather to party and celebrate both fashion and art. Also, it includes fabulous prizes including Miu Miu accessories and MAC makeup kit.
3. LMFF Opening Launch Event – Another of the best parties mix with runway event to attend, especially this as it’s the LMFF official launch event.
4. L’oreal Paris Runway 4 by Vogue Australia – This is Vogue! Need I say more? Prolific and amazing new emerging designers like Dion Lee, Magdalena Velevska and Ellery. Plus, i might be able to see the Kanye for Dion Lee shoes rumored to exist.
5. LMFF Independant Runway – Also featuring some of my favourite brands that could be found in Australia from Ksubi, Lui hon to Song for The Mute.
6. Asia Pacific Fashion Revealed Runway – This is also another amazing runway show organized with some of the best new emerging Asian designers from Korea, Japan, Singapore and my home country, Malaysia.
7. No Home 12 Film + Fashion Project – A film showcase that shows at ACMI theatre of fashion films done by brands like TSEN and Collecting Pretty Boys.
8. Fashion Torque – Nothing else needs to be said since I just posted a post on it. But it is going to be major! A MUST GO event!

These are the main events that I look forward to the most and it is in no particular order. There are actually more to the festival than just these. From vintage sales, fashion sustainability events, breakfast seminars and runway shows, you can find it all over Melbourne city this coming March. While, the main runway shows like L’oreal Paris Runway only runs in a span of a week, the LMFF cultural programs runs throughout the month from beauty workshops, window design exhibitions to art exhibitions, the list goes on.
